This is a cool animated gif showing the difference in popular girls names in the USA between and 1960 and 2012. It is crazy to see how fads can catch on so quickly. We start off with "Mary", only for "Jennifer" to become extremely popular throughout the 1970s. As we get into the mid-eighties, Jessica begins to take hold (it also sees a revival in the mid 1990s). Finally, we end on 2012 with Sophia.
